Introduction to The Collis After Time Scheme (CATS)

CATS is a small not for profit organisation based in Collis school which provides wrap around care for children of the school. CATS also runs popular holiday clubs. The club is run on a daily basis by qualified staff and managed by a voluntary parental committee. CATS provides a safe and happy environment in which children are cared for whilst their parents are at work.

Due to space restrictions CATS can currently offer 24 places for the morning and after-school sessions and as such there are waiting lists in operation. Over 60 families are currently able to use CATS.

The Holiday scheme can take up to 24 children each day and places are usually available whether or not your child attends the term time sessions. Further information on the holiday clubs are available from the CATS room.

To apply download a Cats Waiting List Form. Alternatively you can obtain a form from the CATS room or school office. Completed forms should be submitted to the CATS manager, Lee Digby.

Please note that CATS can only allocate places to children who are age 5 and over. It is also very rare for a parent to get a full time place at CATS. Normally incremental days are offered to those who have flexible requirements that match the slots that become available.

CATS appreciates and regrets that the space restriction can result in children waiting for a place. As an alternative Richmond Council operate a list of Ofsted registered carers who can pick and drop off at Collis school. You can access this at www.richmond.gov.uk/fis

Morning & After School Sessions

CATS is open every day during the school term, except on Inset days. The morning scheme runs from 7.50am and children are seen into their classes for the start of the day.

After school, children are picked up and taken to the CATS rooms in the school where they have a light snack. Pick up is at 5:55 pm at the latest. CATS closes at 6pm sharp.

A wide range of indoor & outdoor activities are offered including football, tennis, table football, snooker, arts and crafts and board games. A TV and Nintendo game are also available, as is a quiet ‘homework’ area.

Holiday schemes

CATS is open from 9am until 5pm during the October and February half terms, at Easter and during the first three weeks of the summer holidays.

Additional activities (e.g. Collis Pool swimming, circus skills workshops) are organised for the summer holiday scheme
